Christine Scher, Ph.D

Professor of Psychology

I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology at San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego. I then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Missouri- St. Louis' Center for Trauma Recovery. Since my graduate student years, I have had an interest in both research and teaching. My research program focuses on cognitive and interpersonal risk for the emotional disorders. For example, I am currently using paradigms drawn from cognitive and biological psychology to examine processing of emotional information in groups at risk for psychological distress (e.g., traumatic stress survivors). I primarily teach courses within the area of clinical psychology.
