Jennifer Trevitt, PhD
Department Chair

Message from the Chair

Our mission is to promote learning through exceptional student-centered instruction and mentoring in the psychological sciences. Our faculty members are committed to fostering students’ development of knowledge and skills necessary for social responsibility, pursuit of highly impactful careers, and successful admission to graduate-level education. We celebrate the diverse backgrounds and lived experiences of our students and aim to be a place where students can bring their whole selves to be inspired, supported, and empowered to become the critical scholars and community-minded citizens the world needs. We are proud to provide multiple opportunities for students and faculty to collaborate in basic and applied research to advance scientific knowledge and transform their lives and communities. We believe that students are co-creators of knowledge and agents of social change, and we are excited to work with them to promote social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity in the field of psychology and beyond. It is my honor to work with amazing faculty and staff to serve our students, the University, and the larger community.

The Department of Psychology offers:

  • A Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology with 5 tracks: Clinical, Gender and Sexuality, Health and Well-being, Industrial/Organizational, Multicultural, and Neuroscience Studies
  • A minor in Psychology
  • A Master of Science degree in Psychology (MS) with an emphasis in clinical psychology and counseling.
  • A Master of Arts degree in Psychology (MA) with an emphasis in psychological research.

To our incoming and current students, welcome to the department – we are so glad you are here! Land Acknowledgement

We collectively acknowledge that Cal State Fullerton is located on traditional, ancestral, and contemporary lands of Indigenous people. Before this land was colonized it was cared for and called home by the Tongva and Acjachemen Peoples. We recognize that this land holds great historical, spiritual, and personal significance for its original inhabitants.

To ensure that we are truly catalyzing change rooted in this social justice principle, Cal State Fullerton recognizes and continually support and advocate for the sovereignty of the Native nations in this territory and beyond. By offering this land acknowledgment, we affirm tribal sovereignty and our commitment to the tribes that historically called this land home.
